From the musical, "Boyce & Melinda Peterson’s Investment Strategies For the Post-Money World".
I have always wanted to write a musical, and to that end had been trying to talk local playwright Gip Hoppe into doing a musical together for years, and finally (and possibly just to get rid of me), in 2009 he cooked up a whopper: an investment seminar set ten years in the future, after the complete collapse of the economy and the resignation of President Palin. Needless to say, I loved the idea of doing an investment seminar as a theater piece, and the work went quickly. The songs include satires of country music, Metallica, Celine Dion, Bruce Springsteen, and (for "Stimulus Package"), Prince, and they were a blast to do, enough so that we embarked on another project shortly after with my longtime lyricist David Greenberger that sadly never got off the ground..
