about

At last, a crude, low-fi version of "Where's My Glasses", recorded only last week at a boffo show at the Lizard! In my opinion, this song is perfect and true, a song everyone has been singing for years anyway without knowing that it was even a song. It's a useful song, one that you sing almost every day. It's a song I'm singing even as I write this, in my cockeyed back-up glasses that have only one arm and one of the lenses is all scratched and blurry so I keep rubbing at it, trying to clean it, even though I know the scratches won't come off.

It's also a song that has the exact number and cadence of "fuck"'s that actually occurs in real life. I don't mind saying I'm extremely proud of it.

It also makes me think of The Valet -my valet, the great Fred Boak - who, only two weeks ago, found my glasses and elected not to return them to me until the dramatic conclusion of the song's performance. And of The Valet's Mother, who requested we post it -this one's fer you, Mrs. B!
