about

The Chandler Travis Trio live at the Mews in Provincetown, Monday, January 3rd, 2011, recorded by The Valet Himself, w. John Clark on bass and Berke McKelvey on horns and keys, not to mention The Valet Himself on bg vox.

This was an interesting gig: the place was unexpectedly packed and quite noisy when we went on, and I thought we might go down in flames (I don’t really like crowds much -in fact, you could say that my entire career has been sort of a war on crowds), but they were swell once we broke ‘em in and got to know them. Before the last song, you’ll hear me follow a few people on their way out the door, trying to leave, hounding relentlessly -I finally convinced them to stay for the last song, which we did without amplification (my fave!)

The program:
Drunk Angry People Shut Up
Camel Passing through the Eye Of a Needle
Settling For Less
Grand Rt. St. John
Anne
