about

Written shortly after Allan Toussaint died, and more of a tribute to him than anything else, this is from the first night we started fooling around with it, and it didn't take long. If I remember correctly, that was also our first rehearsal with our latest addition, rock god Mark Usher, on guitar... so, yeah, ample reason for optimism...

We've got an awful lot to be thankful for: great friends, great fans, health, happiness, and a beautiful place to live, not to mention a world with soulful genius musicians and writers like Mr. Toussaint, one of history's more elegant humans. I got to see him in a tuxedo running at full tilt in the rain from one New Orleans Jazz Fest stage to another once, and he was still elegant!

So, one more time, THANK YOU, wonderful peoples of the past, present, and future -you guys rule!
