Maybe I was feeling old the day I wrote this, but I think I was thinking more about character actors in general, and how odd it must be to make your living all your life by being typecast as the nosy, snotty neighbor or the obnoxious little fat guy with the whiny voice or whatever. Hoyt Axton, a great musician who wrote some great songs, seemed to always play kindly old dads -you'd think that could get pretty irritating, but what the hell, I guess it's a living.
